Play and Pageant Union puts on "Charles and Mary"

The play was written in 1930 about Mary Lamb and her brother Charles, by Joan Temple, who were 19th century writers, with their most known work being their collaboration on The Tales of Shakespeare. Mary and Charles were friends with many other influential writers and poets, such as William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, however Mary suffered a terrible mental breakdown.

Formed after World War I in 1920 after uniting the Pageant Committee with the indoor dramatic activities of the Suburb, it eventually merged with the Speedwell Players in 1966 to form the Garden Suburb Theatre which is still active now.
